I don’t know about you, but i love steak… My only issue is that if I am pan frying it, I always have a hard time getting it just right, and it tends to be a bit flavorless and dried out! Thankfully I am addicted to Ree Drummond’s Pioneer Woman and always find myself looking to her for new ways to make even the simplest and cheapest piece of meat into something so delectable and tasty, its as if I’m in heaven!
With out further ado, Fried Round Steak as adapted from:
1.5-2 Lbs Cube Steak (round steak that has been tenderized)
1 Cup Flour
1 Tsp Season Salt (or what you want for seasoning)
3 Tsp Ground Black Pepper
2 Tbsp Butter
First things first, season both sides of the round steak with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Combine flour, 3 tsp ground pepper and 1 tsp Season Salt in a shallow bowl or plate to press our steaks in.
Firmly press each piece into the flour and shake off any excess.
Just look at them! We are half way there!
Heat about 1/2″ of canola oil in a large sauce pan over medium heat and add butter.
Once butter is melted, sprinkle a pinch of flour into the oil and if it sizzles, it is ready for the awesome-sauce that is out round steaks!
Cook about 3-4 minutes or until they turn a nice golden color then flip.
Cook 1 more minute then remove from pan and serve!
